Tip:

AI rewrite is most useful when your spam score is above 2, or when you want to change the tone of a draft without rewriting it from scratch. It preserves your intent while improving the structure and language.

Overview

The AI rewrite feature takes an existing email draft — whether you wrote it yourself or it was AI-generated — and produces an improved version based on instructions you provide.

Unlike generating a new email from scratch, rewriting keeps your original structure and intent intact and makes targeted improvements: reducing spam signals, adjusting tone, shortening for conciseness, or strengthening the call to action.

ℹ️
Note:

AI rewriting costs 0.5 credits per use, the same as generation. The original draft is preserved — the rewrite creates a new version you can choose to accept or discard.

When to use rewrite

  • Your spam-risk score is above 2 and CarcMail is suggesting you fix specific issues
  • You wrote a draft manually and want the AI to polish the language
  • The generated draft is close but the tone is slightly off
  • The email is too long and you want the AI to trim it while keeping the key points
  • The call to action is too soft and you want something more direct

Before you start

  • You have a campaign draft ready (either written manually or AI-generated)
  • You have reviewed the spam-risk score for the current draft
  • You have enough credits for the rewrite (0.5 credits)

Step-by-step

1

Open your campaign's email draft

Go to Campaigns, select the campaign, and click Edit email. Your current draft will appear in the editor.

2

Click Rewrite email

Below the editor, click Rewrite email. A panel will appear with optional instructions.

3

Provide rewrite instructions (optional)

You can give the AI specific instructions for the rewrite. Examples:

  • “Make the tone more conversational and less formal.”
  • “Shorten to under 100 words.”
  • “Remove the second paragraph and make the CTA more direct.”
  • “Fix any spam signals without changing the core message.”

If you leave the instructions blank, the AI will focus on general improvements: reducing spam signals, improving flow, and keeping the message concise.

4

Review the rewrite

The new version appears alongside the original. Read both carefully. If you prefer the rewrite, click Use this version. If not, click Discard to keep the original.

5

Check the new spam score

After accepting a rewrite, CarcMail automatically re-runs the spam check. Confirm the score has improved before proceeding.

How to confirm it worked

  • The email editor shows the updated version after you click “Use this version”
  • The spam-risk score re-runs and updates — aim for 0–2
  • Your credit balance reflects the 0.5-credit cost for the rewrite

Common issues
